Light hearted and humorous anecdotes from common parenting and family situations will be utilized as examples to address the serious issues of employee communication, mentoring and coaching.

Usher will present a unique blend of his two areas of expertise, guiding large organizations to maintain positive employee relations and helping parents and coaches engage effectively with their children, to encourage listeners to engage more effectively with others.

About the speaker:

Jeffery Usher

Jeffrey Usher is the owner of Reed Consulting in Matthews, NC. For over 25 years, he has consulted on a broad range of Labor and Employee Relations matters with large corporate clients, specializing in issues where hourly workforces are a key to success.

He has negotiated collective bargaining agreements in many industries with all the major unions in the U.S. He specializes in bargaining where issues are critical to the success of the business or confrontational in nature such as plant closures, reorganizations, significant operational changes or cutting edge compensation and benefits concepts. The Strategic Positive Employee Relations [SPER] process was developed by Reed Consulting and has been managed successfully within numerous organizations to assist them in maintaining non-union status. The SPER process provides a strategic and structured approach to maintaining positive employee relations in a manner consistent with the way organizations manage other functional areas.

Jeff has a B.S. in Management from Purdue University and a J.D. from Wake Forest University School of Law. He has been a part time faculty member and lecturer at the university level in the areas of labor relations, communications, and leadership. He is the author of Take Them by the Hand a leadership book for coaches. The book is the foundation for Coach Jeff Enterprises, a discipleship devoted to helping parents recognize the power of presence in their children’s lives.
