Influencing Organizational Change NEW LOCATION: A diversity initiative is effective only to the extent that it changes an organization’s culture. This means that it is no less than an organization change strategy. Getting people ready for change requires effectively influencing them to ensure they will be ready to eagerly embrace the change. Pam Bauer of the Intrinsic Alliance Group will facilitate this session. Pam takes us through the role of Change agents. Pam says: “Change agents need to put in place effective ways to manage the diversity initiative organizational change goals. To influence organizational change, we must engage employees in highly active, ongoing conversations, and create a more open, transparent, and trusting environment needed to promote diversity and inclusion.” This session provides participants with strategies to use to influence change throughout the organization. About the speaker: Pam Bauer Pam Bauer creates dramatic success in all people’s lives by changing their thinking. Pam believes that at our core, our beliefs, our values and our character dominate our ability to succeed or fail. Pam has proven her life philosophy works; as a child, she was impoverished and was in fact even homeless for a time. She was the first to graduate from high school in her family of four, including two older brothers. Pam Bauer now has 30 years experience in training and education, and has built successful programs with Bob Mager and Roosevelt Thomas. At the age of twenty, she started her career as a University instructor. After being rated the top instructor in the University department, she transitioned into the business world as an instructional technologist with the Bell System and eventually moved up the ranks to the roles of Director of Training and Vice President of Product Development with Right Management before starting her own company in 1991. After a two-year contract to develop intellectual capital for a leadership think tank, she re-started her company all over again. Unlike some educated economists and other pessimists, Pam chooses to act as if there is no recession. In fact, her company has acquired business – in 2009 – with Lowes Home Improvement, The Shaw Group, UNCC, The City of Charlotte, Charlotte AHEC, Bojangles, the Bank of New York, Carolinas Health Care, MIT, Capital One, National Gypsum, and Coca-Cola Consolidated. Despite her many accomplishments, Pam remains grounded by her relationship with God. She continues to serve and support the Center for Spiritual Living and through this organization, mentors incarcerated teens and young adults. A published author and poet, Pam is currently co-authoring a book on spirituality. Lunch is provided so please RSVP to admin@c-dcc.org by March 8, 2010.
