Our Mission
Diversity describes the uniqueness of individuals, cultures and relationships. Through diversity, we learn, we share, we understand and we thrive.
The Diversity Council of the Carolinas recognizes that diversity is a tremendous asset to our communities, and ultimately strengthens and drives the success of our economy. While our efforts to date have made an impact, we still have advances to make in eliminating barriers to inclusion, justice and equal access opportunities. We believe that it is in the collective best interests – as employers and employees – to acquire the knowledge, skills, attitudes and competencies necessary to leverage diversity in the workplace and among our respective stakeholders.
As such, it is our mission:
To provide the leadership, guidance and resources to educate and inspire corporations and organizations to become effective in strengthening diversity and promoting change in the workplace.
To fulfill this mission, we must continue to assist organizations in sorting through the complexities found in both external forces (including the workplace and marketplace at large) and internal forces (including organizational structures, capacities and competencies).
