We welcome you to learn more about the DCC – and diversity – and become an active participant in education, inspiration and change.

DCC holds regular programs and activities designed to address core competencies in educating, inspiring and promoting change in the workplace. We welcome your participation and attendance! Check out our calendar for more details.

Our Committees

Through the efforts and commitment of DCC Committees, the organization is able to effectively develop, manage and administer programs, events and initiatives to provide value to DCC members.

We rely heavily on the work of our committees and highly encourage our memberers to participate on a committee. Have an interest or expertise in a specific area? Your participation is welcomed! Please review the general responsibilities of the standing committees outlined below and contact us at 704-388-1888 or email us at admin@c-dcc.org.

Overview of Responsibilities for Standing Committees

Executive Committee
The Executive Committee is comprised of the Officers of the DCC. The Executive Committee is primarily responsible for facilitating the long-range strategic plan of the DCC. The Executive Committee shall also act to discern critical issues of the organization and to respond to these opportunities when timing does not permit the full and prompt action of the entire Board of Directors. In such instances, the Executive Committee shall develop an informed recommendation for action by the full Board of Directors.

Resource Development and Finance Committee
The Resource Development and Finance Committee shall determine long-term financial requirements consistent with the strategic direction of the organization. In addition, the committee shall seek to define appropriate fund development strategies, financial controls, and other avenues for developing resources necessary for the financial well-being of the Diversity Council of the Carolinas.

Program, Events & Educational Initiatives Committee
The Program, Events & Educational Initiatives Committee is responsible for the defining and implementing the programmatic thrusts (education, services, products, etc.) that support the mission of the organization. This work will include understanding the present and future needs of the marketplace and responding with a strategic set of programs and initiatives that will fulfill the vision and mission of the DCC and stimulate membership growth and satisfaction.

Membership Committee
The Diversity Council of the Carolinas is a membership driven organization. The Membership Committee is responsible for understanding the needs of potential members and responding with appropriate classes of membership and developing the associated value/benefit for each audience. The committee is also responsible for developing and implementing membership recruitment and retention strategies to ensure the growth of the organization.

Marketing and Communications Committee
The Marketing and Communications Committee is responsible for initiating and maintaining contact with both DCC internal (members and strategic partners) and external (public and private sector) audiences as necessary to fulfill the vision and mission of the organization. Among the primary responsibilities are defining and implementing a communications strategy, a brand identity program, and program of public relations and outreach to both external and internal audiences that builds engagement, unity and cross-difference relationships in the markets we serve.

Nominating Committee
The purpose of the Nominating Committee is to ensure succession planning and Board effectiveness. The primary responsibilities of the committee will be to identify, recruit and nominate members for the DCC Board of Directors and to plan, implement and evaluate leadership development strategies to support the succession plan and board effectiveness. This committee shall be comprised of a Committee Chairperson and 2–4 committee members of whom 1–2 shall be non-board members (possibly including non DCC members). Members shall serve 2-year terms not to exceed two consecutive terms. In addition, this committee shall be responsible for conducting an orientation session for new board members.
